Immanuel Christian School is blessed to be a ministry of Immanuel Bible Church. Because of the close relationship, the ICS school board acts as a council of the IBC Elder Board. Aside from normal management responsibilities, the school board is also charged with the spiritual oversight of ICS. There are currently five members who serve voluntarily for indefinite terms. All are members of IBC and currently have or previously had children attend ICS.

The board meets every month during the school year. Additional meetings are held to discuss special topics or conduct interviews. Everyone is welcome to attend with prior notification. Members of the board can be contacted directly by parents, teachers and even students. The only request is that specific areas of concern be addressed with the appropriate faculty or staff member first.

Every member of the board considers their work an important ministry. “We are committed to continuing  the legacy of excellence and know this will only happen through a collaboration of parents, faculty, staff and board members indwelt by the Holy Spirit,” said Dwight Davison, School Board Chairman. “Every year brings exciting evidence of God’s hand on ICS, making it His school for His glory.”

To assist parents in providing
a sound education for their children through the integration of faith and learning

·         Parents: a ministry of IBC and an extension of the home, supporting parents in the biblical mandate giving them ultimate responsibility for the education of the children.

·         Sound Education: rigorous academic instruction, challenging athletic and extra-curricular activities, and creative expression through the fine arts.

·         Integration of Faith and Learning: a biblical worldview, that all truth is found in God as revealed by His Word and the world He created.

Preparing the servant-leaders of the next generation to testify to the truth

·         Servant-Leaders: productive, compassionate members of the body of Christ and responsible citizens.

·         Next Generation: children are to be taught and nurtured in preparation for their future responsibilities as an adult.

·         Testify to the Truth: believing the truth by hearing and doing what is true, knowing the truth and how it can be verified, using the truth carefully and strategically, and sharing the truth effectively and creatively.

1.  Mission: We believe Immanuel Christian School exists to support Christian parents in fulfilling their biblical responsibility to educate their children. Therefore, at least one parent must profess a relationship with Christ. A high level of parental involvement at school is encouraged in order to build a strong relationship between the home, church, and school.

2.  Truth: We believe that all truth is God’s truth and that Scripture, the revealed Word of God, must be taught as truth. Therefore, the Bible will be taught as a core subject and integrated into the entire learning experience.

3.  Education: We believe that the Christian mind should be the best mind, enlightened by the mind of Christ and having integrated God’s principles with academic pursuits. Therefore, the aim of an Immanuel education is to develop students with a biblical worldview who are well prepared physically, emotionally, spiritually, and academically for life.

4.  Learning: We believe in an educational program that reflects Biblical values and traditional educational standards that incorporates innovative curriculum and centers on a caring student/teacher relationship. Therefore, every learning experience should aim to engage students toward their full potential in Christ.

5.  Character: We believe that character development based on the Word of God should be instilled in the hearts of all students. Therefore, every child will receive individual discipleship in self-discipline and personal responsibility in an orderly environment of Christian love and compassion. Students are taught and given the opportunity to love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love their neighbors as themselves.

6.  Goal: We believe that our ultimate goal is to teach the child to know God, love Him, enjoy Him, and witness of Him in a life of service to God and man. Therefore, our students will be asked to demonstrate the love of Christ and to serve their classmates, school, local community, and international partners.

7.  Commitment: We believe our board, administration, faculty, and staff must be committed followers of Christ who teach and lead from a biblically integrated perspective. Therefore, those engaged with the school’s governance, administration, teaching, and staffing will model Christ in their daily service, reflect and support the school’s mission and core values, and understand and focus on achieving the school’s vision and expected outcomes.

8.  Integrity: We believe that the school’s day-to-day operational practices and financial stewardship must be a consistent model of integrity, efficiency, and accountability. Therefore, the school will meet or exceed the standards and practices required by supervising agencies.
